A little about me

If you love stories, road trips, adventure, exploring, meeting new people, finding yourself in crazy situations and enjoying a good laugh then you’ve come to the right .com

Perhaps your feeling ‘stuck’ in neutral and looking for a little inspiration, motivation to kick into gear?

Welcome! I love giving ‘Tool Box’ (opposed to soap box) talks. You know, to get you fired up about life; and bust through, that dirty 4 letter word, FEAR. I don’t want you to barter with time you think you have!

I extend you an invitation to ride pillion with me around my web site – enjoying the stories I find. They are out there. Everyone has a story!

My Background

Since becoming an empty nester in 2014, I have been travelling solo around Australia on nomadic adventures, combining my three passions:

Motorcycling, travel and people.

In late 2016 I was on a borrowed motorcycle when the headlight failed as I crossed a bridge at night. BIG Ouch

It’s been a looooooong recovery-physical, mentally and emotionally. And well, as I have discovered, things will never be the same for me again. It is a permanent injury.

I used my recovery time well and self-published a book Fat Bob and the Blonde – Girl Torque: An entertaining memoir about my travels.

The book encompasses important messages of resilience, adversity, thinking big and creating a life you want.

What’s Next?

I’m excited to announce I am back on Fat Bob with Mr T in tow.

Again, I am combining my three passions – motorcycling, travel and people. However, things are a little different this time around, as I reinvent myself and transition Fat Bob and the Blonde from a travel blog into my work (it is unsustainable being an unemployed busted up biker).

I now use my motorcycling and travel experiences to empower people, in particular women, with the courage to live life @ full throttle – meaning, pursue their own goals and dreams.

My author talks, motivational speaking and workshops can best be described as entertainment with passion and purpose.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know me better. I hope to meet you someday out on the road or perhaps at one of my events. Please come and say ‘hello’ – I would like that!

Cheers

My greatest wish is for you to gain inspiration and motivation to go out and do what makes you happy. Create your journey and follow your own road map!

Despite taking a Harley where no Harley should go a few times on my road trips, not to mention towing a camper trailer, I’ve had no major mechanical problems. Some wear and tear yes, but nothing major.

I’ve been blessed with a great and reliable motorcycle that gets me safety to where I want to go, every single ride.

Best buy and best fun ever!

Meet Mr T

When I began to think about my nomadic adventures, I visualised packing a tent, a change of clothes, basic cooking equipment and riding down the highway old school biker style—a true free spirit.

When a suggestion was made to tow a trailer, I was mortified. I dismissed the idea immediately. “I’m not old enough to be a grey nomad biker,” I said. How uncool!

To cut a long story short, I ended up with a Cub Kamperoo Junior camper trailer, my mobile cubby house and rolling billboard.

I unashamedly love it. The ease of it all. I can be off the bike and in the comfort of a room with a hard floor and a bed made up in a couple of minutes.

I really don’t notice Mr T behind me-hard to believe but true. The key is to ride to conditions. Sometimes that means a slower speed to conserve fuel, especially in crosswinds.

Are you asking yourself “what’s next”?

Great. It’s a sign you are ready to ignite your spark and get fired up about life. I’m on a mission to urge people “not to barter with time they think they have.”

Let’s make shift happen!
